Clubfoot is a foot deformity that can have three different causes: idiopathic (for which there is no known reason), neurogenic (resulting from a nervous system disorder), and syndromic (related to an underlying syndrome). Idiopathic clubfoot, also known as talipes equinovarus, is the most typical kind of clubfoot and is present from birth. One in 1,000 infants have this congenital defect, with only one foot being affected in half of the instances. Baby boys are twice as likely as baby girls to suffer clubfoot, despite the fact that there is currently no recognised reason for this condition. An underlying neurologic problem is the cause of neurogenic clubfoot. Using a child with spina bifida as an example. Later in childhood, a clubfoot may also appear as a result of cerebral palsy or a compressed spinal cord. Several other clinical disorders that are connected to an underlying illness can also occur in conjunction with syndromic clubfoot. Arthrogryposis, constriction band syndrome, tibial hemimelia, and diastrophic dwarfism are a few disorders where a clubfoot may develop.
