Tendon Transfer

A tendon transfer is a surgical procedure that moves working muscles and tendons and replaces dysfunctional muscles and tendons. For example, after a broken wrist, the tendon on the thumb that allows you to do "thumbs up" can break. Both ends of the tendon are often so damaged that they can no longer be sewn together.
